If you look at last weeks post you can get all the information that you need.   One thing has been changed.  We will be having short missions trip meetings with students every other Sunday immediately after youth group.  There are two spots that are open still.  Please contact me if you are in 9th-12th grade and are interested in going.

A few things for you all to know.

First off the $100 deposit for the missions trip is due right now.  We still have 1 or 2 spots that we need to fill so if you want to go you still have the opportunity to go.  We really need to fill all of those 11 spots.  The total cost of the trip is $350 and the second installment of $100 is due during the first Sunday of May.  We will be leaving on the Morning of June 10th bright and early and returning late at night on the 15th of June.  We will be going with a group called Youth Works that you can check out online.  We will be going to their Blue Ridge Mountains location.  If you have any questions or desire to reserve a spot please don’t hesitate to call me at 724-650-5432.

Other then that we will be resuming our normal youth group Tuesday and Sunday Nights this upcoming Sunday and Tuesday.  I hope that you all had a great Easter and you did not forget the reason for the celebration.

First off tonight is Jr./Sr. Night at the youth house.  If you are in 11th or 12th grade then come on out for food and a new game that I am trying to develop.

This upcoming Friday at 9:00pm until Saturday at 12:00pm we have the event called “15″ for anyone between 6th and 8th grade.  It costs on ly $5 and it is an overnighter with movies, pizza, snacks, prizes, trivia madness, late night dart tag, limbo, Alex Derosa speaking, and the chance to stay over at the youth house.  If you are in Jr. high then show up and bring a friend with you!  See you all this Friday at 9:00pm!

This upcoming Tuesday is Pizza and Nooma night.

Sunday April 1st is the due date for the Sr. High missions trip $100 deposit.

Friday April 6th (good friday) will be our youth community good friday brunch.  Our worship band will be there and Carmen from Memorial Pres will be speaking.  It will be at Summit Pres at 11:00am.  181 Caldwell drive Butler Pa, 16002.

I have just a few quick updates for you to look at.

First off the East Liberty Food Kitchen Trip is this week at 8:00am at the youth house.  We should return by 2:00pm

Second thing is that the Jr. High overnighter has been finished.  It will happen at 320 West Main street from 9:00pm on Friday the 23rd of March to 12:00pm on Saturday the 24th of March.  You can just come by and bring $5 with you (Max of $10 per family) and all first time guests are free for the night.  We will have video games, dart guns, limbo, movies, worship, a speaker, pizza, and possibly late night capture the flag or jail break.  It will be a night you will not want to miss.  So come by and bring friends.

Last but not least the first $100 and permission slip for the Missions trip to NC is due on April the 1st.  Please remember that we can only take 12 students and the spots are reserved for 11th and 12th graders first.  Then students will be chosen to go on a first come first serve basis so get that info in ASAP.

I think that is what they call it…….All I really know is that the leap year mean that the Olympics will be on soon, which really mean that I only have two more years to wait until I can watch the winter Olympics.

Sorry that was pointless….

Anyway here are some updates for you,

1. Sr high youth group will be meeting this Sunday.  We have a guest speaker coming with a crazy story!  I am really excited about it and I hope you are too.

2. Jr high youth group is canceled this Tuesday.  I will be out of town so do not show up for youth group.

3. The Sr. high are going out to the East Liberty Food Kitchen (ELFK) on Saturday March 17th.  If you are a Sr. high student and you want to go then sign up this Sunday and get the new permission slips filled out.  Please remember that we have a limited amount of people that we can take to the food kitchen each trip.

4. The Jr. High overnighter is coming up on March 23rd at 9:00pm until March 24th at 12:00pm.  It is called “15″ because it is 15 hours long!  This event is going to be epic.  We have a guy coming up to speak and lead worship for us, we we have video games, pizza, movies, limbo, new games, lots of room to run, and breakfast in the morning.  Bring you sleeping stuff and a ton of energy.  The location of this event just got changed.  We planned on having it at the church at the end of main street but that can no longer happen so we will be looking for a new place and hopefully will have one by the end of the week.  I am not making any promises but we are hoping to get a full gym.

Anyway that is it for the Leap Year update.

Just a heads up on what is going on this weekend.  Please look at last week’s update to find out more extensive info on the events.

Tomorrow at 4:00 starts our Sr. high Restored event.  We will be going to Pittsburgh and doing some all night bowling along with going to get breakfast the next morning.  The pick up time for the event is Saturday morning at 8:30am.  The cost is $20

Saturday night is Jr. High movie night.  We will meet from 7:00-9:00pm at the youth house and watch Kung Fu Panda 2. The cost is $3 and a bag of chips or bottle of pop.

This Sunday Relevant Sr. High Youth Group is canceled.

The following Sunday we will have Sr. High youth group although it was originally canceled.

Jr. High Youth group this upcoming Tuesday will be having our monthly Pizza and Nooma Night.

Just wanted to update you on what is going on in the next few weeks of RSM.

Tonight will be our first Jr./Sr. night of the new year.  It will start at 6:00 and go until whenever.  Dont forget to bring someone new with you!

On Feb 24th we will be having the restored event and you can find details on that in last weeks update along with the movie night for the Jr. high on the 2th of Feb.

The 26th of Feb we have decided to cancel Sr. High youth group.

The 4th of March we will have Sr. high youth group.

the 6th of March we will not be having Jr. High youth group.

On the 17th of March the Sr. High will be going to the East Liberty Food Kitchen.

On the 23rd and 24th of March the Jr. High will be having an overnighter called “15″ from 9:00pm – 12:00pm the next day at the Presbyterian church at the end of Main street Saxonburg (their youth house behind the little chapel at the end of the street).

I hope you are having a good week. I just wanted to update you on what the youth leaders and I have decided to do as a replacement for the Mystery Bus Tour.

For the Sr. High we are going to do an event called “Restored”. For the event we will be meeting with Sr. High students on the 24th of February after school (4:00pm) at the youth house to pack bag lunches and get ready for the night. Then we will head to Pittsburgh (6:00pm) to meet Pat from the Food Kitchen and a woman named Sue that runs the ministry we will be helping out with. From there we will help finish up the meal and take it down into downtown Pittsburgh. There we will feed the guests, give them lunches to take, give them the socks and gloves we collect and fellowship with them right in Downtown! It should be very similar to the ELFK but with a very different feel because we will be in the middle to the city. I have talked to Sue and feel confident that it is safe and they will have several adults that just walk around and help keep peace and watch over volunteers. From there we will leave Pittsburgh and head back to the Youth house. We will go from there to family bowlaway in Butler at 10:00pm. We will be there until midnight and do cosmic bowling and have some food. From there we will had back to the youth house to hang out and stay the night. We will watch a few movies, possibly have a short lesson, and then crash for the night. I will be working with Rodger to get the use of the Lutheran Church’s Youth room for boys and the youth house for girls. The next morning we will wake up (7:00am) to clean up and then head to Kellys for breakfast together. After Kellys we will be having the kids picked up at the youth house at 8:30am. The cost of the event is $20.

For the Jr. high group we will be having a movie night from 7:00pm until 9:00pm at the youth house on February 25th. We will be watching Kung Fu Panda 2 and having pizza. The cost of that event will be $3 plus a bag of chips or a bottle of pop.  First time guests will be free so bring a friend!

The 15th will be Jr./Sr. night for all 11th and 12th graders.  It will be at the youth house and start at 6:00.  Come on out for a time of movies, games, food, and fellowship.
